The Broken Banyan is named with Robinson Crusoe, fictional hero of island life in mind. Crusoe made his home in a banyan tree, and the species is considered to represent longevity in ancient cultures.

At the Broken Banyan apartments guests will find nothing but luxury and seclusion during their stay on Lord Howe Island.

The Broken Banyan on Lord Howe Island

The Broken Banyan provides six one-bedroom holiday apartments set amongst sub-tropical plants on a two-hectare garden property. Amidst the palm trees and beautiful hibiscus flowers visitors can experience a glorious view of mounts Gower and Lidgbird.

The apartments are also conveniently located close to the island’s shops, restaurants, and wonderful beaches.

The garden apartments contain a queen-size bed with ensuite, a well-equipped kitchen, and a comfortable dining and lounge area.

One of the best features of the apartments is the veranda with its gas barbecue and outdoor setting, perfect for dining outside in the evenings. There is also a communal guest laundry.

At the heart of the property stands a glorious banyan tree, from which the garden property gets its name.

Visitors can spend their days strolling around the grounds, or go further to visit the famous beaches and nature spots of Lord Howe Island.

Free transfer is provided to the airport, and the hosts will also provide a shuttle service to the island’s restaurants in the evenings.

Another way of getting around the island is to make use of the bicycles for hire at the Broken Banyan.

The Broken Banyan comes highly recommended by previous guests who have enjoyed the peaceful tranquillity, comfortable accommodation, and warm hospitality offered by the hosts.

The complex accepts adults only.
