Ebbtide Apartments Lord Howe Island

Travellers to Lord Howe Island looking for an affordable resort that still has loads of style and classic beach ambiance will find everything they need at Ebbtide Apartments. These five self-contained apartments are tucked into the base of the cliffs that line Ned’s Beach and provide incredible access to everything from bird watching to snorkelling and walks through ancient tropical forests.

Ebbtide Apartments, Lord Howe Island

The resort sits on a small bluff facing the northeast and overlooking a lush tropical garden filled with exotic plants like pawpaws, frangipani, hibiscus and kentia palms. A casual stroll through a towering banyan forest leads you to Ned’s Beach, where a colourful coral reef is teeming with fish life and where the cliffs are filled with sea birds like shearwaters, sooty terns and white terns.

The snorkelling at Ned’s Beach is excellent and easy enough for anyone to manage with the equipment provided by the resort. The fish here are so tame that you can actually feed them by hand.

Each of the five sunny apartments is furnished with a full kitchen that gives you the flexibility of creating a snack or a drink which can be enjoyed on the privacy of your deck. The living room, bedroom and bathroom are all nicely separated for a sense of space and privacy. The three garden suites are situated side by side and are ideal for families or large groups. In addition to a private deck, each unit has its own little garden area with a BBQ grill.

The two other units at Ebbtide Apartments are the cottage and the superior suite, both offering privacy and space. The cottage can easily house a family of four and features a large deck for relaxing. The superior suite enjoys an elevated location with sweeping views over the Admiralty Islands to the north.

All units at Lord Howe Island’s Ebbtide Apartments come with linens and beach towels. The resort also provides snorkelling gear, backpacks and beach umbrellas for their guests. Everyone is encouraged to stroll around the garden and pick fruit right off the trees when in season. A Wi-Fi hot spot helps you stay connected with the real world during your holiday, while modern perks like iPod docks let you create your own soundtrack.

Room rates include airport transfers. Although the resort doesn’t have its own restaurant, a grocery store is located 500 metres away and four grat restaurants are within easy walking distance.
