Leanda-Lei Apartments is an accommodation complex on Lord Howe Island offering modern and spacious lodgings. The location is ideal, situated on Middle Beach Road, meaning that Leanda-Lei is just 400 metres from Lagoon Beach, and 300 metres to the museum. There are free airport transfers for guests, along with free transport to restaurants and all standard facilities are provided in the apartments.
Accommodation at Leanda-Lei is provided as studio, one-, or two-bedroom apartments. One of the best features of Leanda-Lei is that the apartments are set in tranquil surroundings, with awe-inspiring sub-tropical gardens to admire, and large, serene lawns with a backdrop of Mount Gower, or spectacular views of Mount Lidgbird. The gardens contain various barbeque areas for guests.
Leanda-Lei has a history dating back to 1954, when its owners created the island's first purpose-built guesthouse. Roy and Daphne Wilson built the accommodation in a perfect spot of Lord Howe Island, and it was immediately labelled a 'honeymooners' haven' due to its romantic views, and laid-back vibe.
In 1974 Leanda-Lei was converted into self-contained apartments, offering visitors a wider choice of accommodation. It has grown in strength through the years and now is considered one of the best places to stay on the island since it was opened more than fifty years ago. All of the apartments were recently renovated in a modern style, and there is WiFi access.
As well as being less than five minutes away from the beach, Leanda-Lei is at an ideal location close to the Lord Howe Island visitor centre, and walking distance to most major tourist attractions the island has to offer. People who stay at the apartments continue to highly rate the warm and welcoming customer service, the magnificent views, and the convenience of the location at Leanda-Lei.
